Strongmen Faced Off
The National Park of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi hosted the 2nd stage of the World Cup in strongman games and weight lifting.
The competitions were organized by the Ministry of culture and sports of Uzbekistan jointly with the Federation of “Bahodirlar o‘yinlari va tosh ko‘tarish” (Strongman games and weight lifting) and a number of other partner organizations. Athletes from more than 10 countries fought for the victory in it.
In competitions the athletes were required to lift objects exceeding their own weight for several times and to move forward to a certain distance.
In the 2nd stage of the World Cup in strongman games and weight lifting, the participants performed a variety of tasks, demonstrating great physical capabilities.
According to the results of the competition, the first place was taken by Mateush Kiyelishkovski from Poland, our compatriot Sergey Trubitsin became took the second and top three were taken by the US representative Dimitar Savatinov.
“I am so glad that I have become the winner of this prestigious competition,” says Mateush Kiyelishkovski. “The high organizational level of the competition should be noted and the success of the Uzbek athletes at international competitions testify to the enormous attention paid in Uzbekistan to the development of sport.”
